Digital Taunton unveils Digital Somerset new identity

March 18, 2021

The Community Interest Company, formally known as Digital Taunton, as Digital Somerset, along with a brand-new website and renewed scope.

Digital Taunton has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2019 and a key objective has been to be all-inclusive and accessible. No parameters are set around who can become a member and it is free to join, providing unlimited opportunities for its members. The new identity of Digital Somerset better reflects the movement’s culture of inclusivity and diverse membership.

Digital Somerset is a community-driven group of individuals and businesses who are passionate about ensuring the region becomes a hub for digital innovation and collaboration. It aims to create an active cluster for the digital community in the Somerset area.

Shane Griffiths, co-founder of the Idea Bureau and founder of Digital Somerset, comments on the new unveiling, “By realigning ourselves with our strategic vision of cultivating an innovative and collaborative community, we are confident that this change reflects our company’s culture of inclusiveness. We are passionate about attracting members with a desire to collaborate, innovate, network and share knowledge with like-minded companies and individuals, placing Somerset firmly on the map for the digital industries.”

Jeremy Hyams, CEO of Taunton-based Claims Consortium Group and founder of Digital Somerset adds, “We are overjoyed to unveil our new identity that is more inclusive of our members who come from across the county of Somerset and include everyone from start-ups, grass roots practitioners, educators and students to multi-million-pound corporates, CEOs, freelancers and Government-run organisations.”

Digital Somerset helps to support, connect and showcase the digital sector across Somerset. This is achieved through a variety of high-quality and inspiring events, both online and live – as restrictions allow, the launch of a new podcast, as well as a newly designed website, which will deliver content resources and a platform for its members to engage with, providing those involved in the digital industries with an opportunity to meet like minded people and hear from digital experts about the latest developments.

Digital Somerset is also a member of the Tech South West steering group, positioning it as a key member on the region’s digital scene.
